Are the books original?

Of course! We do not sell counterfeits here at Ellie Librairie.

Where do your books come from?

We source books from the US and UK.

What is the difference between US and UK copies?

Dimensions

- UK paperbacks are typically smaller compared to US copies. The usual height of US copies are 8" while UK copies are 7"

Cover, Spine, and Publising House

- UK paperbacks may or may not have a different cover design. British books are associated with darker colors, while American books have more bright covers. Additionally, American publishers are often comfortable with portraying the characters on the book cover, contrary to what most British publishing firms would do. Sometimes, they also do not have the same publisher.

Content

- Both editions are exactly the same content-wise. Text changes can happen (although rarely) to make it more appealing to the culture, however, it shouldn't alter the story.

- This will change accordingly.

Quality / Materials

- US copies have smooth, yellowish papers while UK copies have rough, light brown papers. This is not consistent though and may change from time to time depending on the publisher.

What are Indian copies?

Indian copies are authentic/original. US and UK have their own publishing houses, so does India. Publishing houses like Bloomsbury and Simon & Schuster have branches in India as well (you can check their website).

There is a minor difference in terms of the paper quality, but they are exactly the same content-wise. Indian copies have lighter/lower GSM and slightly rough texture. The difference is not very visible in photos as you might have to thoroughly check it in-person. However, this is not consistent and may vary depending on the book. Since it is original, the quality is not super bad. Being printed by licensed/authorized publishing houses, they still follow a certain standard. Indian copies are way cheaper compared to US/UK books for various reasons.

Do you accept book requests?

While we do not have "Pasabuys" from other stores in the US, you may request titles by sending us a message/email. We'll check if the book you're looking for is available from our suppliers.

How can I pre-order books?

You can do so by simply placing an order through the website. Here's the link to our Pre-order section. Please take note of the ETA before checking out.

What are your payment methods?

Here are our payment methods:

- Credit/Debit Cards (Direct Charge)

- Gcash (Direct Charge)

- Manual Bank Transfer

- Manual Gcash Fund Transfer

- COD (For on-hand titles only)

Do you offer installments?

Yes, we offer installments via BillEase or via manual installment.

Do you offer COD?

COD is available for on-hand titles via GoGo Xpress only. Pre-orders with COD as the MOP will automatically be canceled.

Manual Installment

What is manual installment?

This is an in-house installment, perfect for those who does not have government IDs and are unable to sign up with BillEase.

What are the requirements?

All we need is a 50% downpayment for you to be eligible. :)

How do I pay for my balance?

You can pay for your balance by sending the payment via Gcash or Bank Transfer. Or, you can choose to pay for the remaining balance via COD upon delivery!

Can I use any courier for the COD option for my balance?

Sadly, no. COD is only available via GoGo Xpress for now.

How can I take advantage of this installment option?

1.) Read the Manual Installment Terms and Conditions (can be found on this page).

2.) If you agree, you may proceed with placing an order through the website.

3.) Choose "Manual Installment" as your payment method.

4.) Follow the instructions on the checkout page and send your downpayment.

Is this available for on-hand titles?

No, manual installment is only available for pre-orders.

What happens if I don't pay for my balance?

Since this is pre-order and you are given enough time, please make sure to prepare your payment before the ETA.

If you opted to pay for your remaining balance via Gcash/Bank Transfer, you are given 2 weeks after the arrival of your book/s to settle the balance. Failure to pay will result into your order being forfeited and you will not be eligible for any refunds.

If you chose to pay for your balance via COD and the parcel gets returned to us, you can arrange for a reshipment but you have to shoulder the 50% (of the shipping fee) charge of GoGo Xpress for returned parcels. Failure to claim within 2 weeks after the parcel is returned will result into your order being forfeited and you will not be eligible for any refunds.

These terms and conditions must be agreed by the buyer before availing the manual installment plan. We give you our trust so for the benefit of both parties, please be a responsible buyer. ☺️

Manual Installment Terms & Conditions

• 50% downpayment is required
• The remaining 50% balance can be paid via Gcash, Bank Transfer, or COD upon delivery.
• For Gcash and Bank Transfer, the balance must be paid before we ship out your order.

BILLEASE

What is BillEase?

BillEase is a hassle-free digital credit app that allows you to shop now and pay later online even without a credit card.

What are the requirements?

If you are at least 18 years old and have a stable source of income, you are welcome to apply! In addition, BillEase will also ask for your latest proof of income, proof of billing and one valid government ID to verify the information.

Examples of accepted proof of income: payslips, screenshots of bank transaction history, Upwork certificate of employment, Paypal transaction history, remittance slips, etc.

Examples of accepted proof of billing: Meralco bill (preferred), credit card bill, water bill, cable TV bill, post paid plan bill, etc.

I do not have a proof of billing under my name. Can I still apply?

Yes, it is okay if the proof of billing is not under your name. As long as it is recent and has your home address, it will work.

How can I apply for BillEase installment plan?

Easy - simply download the BillEase app from Apple App Store or Google Play Store and sign up for a BillEase account. Once approved, an initial credit limit will be established, which can be used to purchase from our website.

What is the ETA for pre-orders and is it a 100% guarantee that it will arrive within that timeframe?

Sea Cargo - 2 to 3 months | Air Cargo - 4 to 6 weeks

ETA means Estimated Time of Arrival. Since it is only an estimate, we cannot guarantee anything. We do try our best to have all orders delivered as early as possible.

What is the timeframe for local delivery?

Local delivery timeframe depends on the location. Most of the time, it's 5-7 business days.

Do you offer free shipping?

No. Local shipping will be shouldered by the customer.

Can I cancel my order?

Once your order has been paid and confirmed, cancellation is no longer allowed. We process orders and order books from the publishers real-time in order to secure a copy for you.

I received damaged books. What do I do?

Damages must be reported within 3 days after the order is placed. Proof (such as pictures) must be provided.

What is your return process for damaged books?

Once we have checked the photos and confirmed that you are eligible for a return, you may ship the book back to our address. All items will be inspected upon receipt so make sure to pack everything properly as will not be able to issue a full refund if the book incurred additional damages during transit due to poor packaging.
